Jim Enrique Tolbert has an extensive background in Mergers and Acquisitions and as a senior level corporate advisor. Mr. Tolbert began his career working for Morgan Stanley International in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department in New York and London. Mr. Tolbert also worked for McKinsey & Company, in the Chicago office, advising clients in a variety of strategic and operational areas.
Mr. Tolbert was active as a principal in acquisitions serving five years as the CFO of a private equity backed company and then 15 years as the founder and CEO of another private equity backed platform. During his time as an executive in these ventures, he led the process of sourcing acquisitions, valuing target companies, conducting due diligence, and negotiating terms and purchase documentation. He also managed often complex regulatory approvals and organizing groups of professional advisors.
Jim Enrique Tolbert also serves as the Chancellor of Universidad Santander USA. Universidad Santander is a Mexican based private university.
Mr. Tolbert has participated in a number of professional and community organizations including being appointed by Governor Riley to serve on the Alabama Workforce Investment Board. He also served on the Jefferson County, Alabama Workforce Investment Board.
Mr. Tolbert is the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Career College Association, his company’s industry association, and served nine years on the Board Directors, four of which were as an officer including Chairing the Board of Directors.
Mr. Tolbert has a Bachelor of Science in Economics, summa cum laude, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
